Buzzard Droppings February 2010

(President’s Message continued from page 1)

the second Tuesday of each month to avoid conflicts with different Holidays and move our meeting a tad closer to Christmas for our annual extravaganza.

#2, last meeting we asked if anyone has access to or owns a trailer, farm type tractor and/or a front end loader. This is to help keep costs down while developing a new field so we don't have to rent a Bobcat or that type of equipment.

#3, the Northwest Hobby Expo is February 12 through February 14. The Club has voted to

support the expo, we have 4 swap tables and a Club booth that needs to be manned.   Last meeting the roster went around and a very few members signed up. It will be  circulated again during our February meeting, please take a time slot to support the Club.

#4, remember, it's now 2010. Time to have that new AMA card or you can't fly at the field (or any organized, chartered field or AMA event, including the indoor Fun Fly at the NW Model Hobby Expo!).

online.  It is available in PDF format for those of you who want to download an electronic version.  A motion was made to accept the December meeting minutes.  The motion was seconded.  No discussion ensued.  A vote was taken and the minutes were accepted.

Officers Reports

President – Chet mentioned talking with Dale about Art Greonovegg who has the farm about half way down SR 203 from Monroe to Duvall.  No word yet from Art and has not been able to get back to Chet.

Chet asked Ron Rueter for an update on the potential field located several miles east, down Ben Howard Road.  Ron stated, Jennifer, the owner, is very interested in leasing the field for a small amount of money.  No specific amount was mentioned.  When weather permits several members will bring their electric airplanes to test out the “flyability” of the field.

In light of our club’s field situation, Chet will put another advertisement in Craigslist.  The previous ad did result in a couple of leads.

Chet Blake asked for the officers to report on events and news for the past month.

VP – Jim Reynolds proposed planning for three events: A Fun Fly in June, an Open House in July, and a Combat event in August.  These events are contingent on having a place to fly.

Secretary – Vaughan Houger reminded us that now is the time to renew your membership.  Your club dues need to be paid by the March, 2010 meeting.  Remember this is the time of the year to renew your AMA membership for 2010.

(Continued on page 3)

#5, The Builders Competition is underway, so signup and support this club event, too, and you may win the recognition you deserve during our May 11 meeting!

So remember, the upcoming February meeting is the first Tuesday, February 2 and all future meetings will be on the second Tuesday of the month So, the March meeting is scheduled for 3/9/2010.

See ya Tuesday night!

Chet
