Well, it is that time of year again, our Annual Club Auction. If you haven’t attended a club meeting lately, you might not know that the format of our auction has changed. We will still have two days for the auction, but one is at our club meeting in June and the other will be in August sometime (we think). Highest bidders for the auction items at our club meeting will take them home, provided a payment method has been agreed upon with our Treasurer, Rick Hanners.
This event has been a lot of fun in past years. It is open to the public and anyone can bring items to the auction, anyone can bid on the items. This will be a “Chinese Auction”, meaning that the owner can refuse to allow the item to be auctioned if the final price doesn’t meet expectations. Did I mention that donations of cash, checks, etc. will be accepted at any time!
If each member brought something to auction for the club charity and they all sold for an average of $10.00, we would have over $600.00 to donate just from this auction alone. Last year, the club donated $3000 to 3 charities. In these times, the charities really need the help.
So, dig deep and help this to be a successful event. And bring your smiles, too.
