show. This is an important event for the Club. Thanks to all who signed up!

The food for the Open Houses and Fun Flys will be hamburgers, chips and sodas.

The Combat Events will have Fred’s secret brisquette, chips and sodas for $6.00.

Another BBMAC breakfast will be in August this year.

Fred introduced the current club officers:

President – Fred Hanquet

Vice President – Brian Illston

Secretary – Chet Blake

Treasurer – Rick Hanners

Field Safety Officer – Vince Bell

Newsletter Editor and Webmaster – Ron Swift was in Portland, OR. on business.

Field Manager – Ron Rueter was in Salt Lake City

A motion was requested by Fred, made, seconded and approved to accept the minutes as published in the monthly newsletter.  Motion passed unanimously.

Vice President – Brian Illston presented a calendar with dates of 2 Fun Flys, 2 Combat events and 2 Open Houses. Brian is having Contest Director vests made. There will be a Safety table for all events.

Secretary - Chet Blake reported we have 70 members including 2 family and 2 Jr. members with the addition of Dick Broderson.

The Builder’s Contest is in process, the conclusion is May 6th at the field. It’s never too late to make an entry.

Club dues are due! Membership dues MUST be paid by the end of the business meeting Mar. 4, 2008 in order to NOT pay the $100 initiation dues. The current membership renewal dues are once again being held at $60 for 2008.

Chet will have new membership cards made up for the March meeting. Those members not in attendance will have them mailed to them, so please be sure that Chet has your current address.

Next meeting will be Tuesday, March 4th at Alfy’s Pizza.

To repeat… You now MUST have 2008 AMA card or verification to fly at the field.

Chet reported that he sent a write up and picture to the editorial staff of the AMA and our district V.P. about the recent 2007 Charity Auction and a brief run down of the wherefores and whys we do it.

Mr. Jim Cherry of the AMA wrote a return email that he was forwarding it to the editorial staff [with some requests for additional details]. Rick Hanners obtained the name of the young gal in the picture at the presentation of the check. Rick also forwarded the name to Mr. Cherry.

The 2006 auction write up had been sent twice and never acknowledged. Lets hope the 2007 writeup will be published by AMA.

We’ll see if we get any publicity this time.

Treasurer – Rick Hanners reported that the bank balance is $6552.25 and dues are coming in. We should be in a position to take on a new field, if the opportunity comes along.

Rick passed around the proposed budget for 2008. The budget was adopted.

Safety Officer – With the winter toll, it’s a good time to get out the planes, cycle the batteries, check props for cracks, secure clevises, etc. and make sure that the plane is in good shape. The weather is going to get better soon!

Special Committee Reports

Alternate Field Location Committee Nothing new, Fred will pursue more after he looses the neck brace and becomes more mobile.

Pilot training – Rick reported that 6 members are in training.

Sound Management – No new readings or report. The Club is considering buying a sound meter and Fred is willing to manage it. It’s a good idea to be able to tell a prospective land lord where we are at as far as dB readings.

Field Improvements  - Ron was not present, but Fred reported that Ron would like to have field clean ups on April 19th (rain date April 26th ) and August 17th (August 24th rain date). Some discussion followed and most would like to see
