Buzzard Droppings March 2008

(President’s Message continued from page 1)

were our hand outs for the show). Ron Swift is one of the hardest working members of our club and is worthy of our Dave Weber Special Service Award for 2008. As you know, we had 1 Vendor both and 3 Swap Meet tables. I feel and believe this show was a huge success for our industry and also for our club. As the word gets out about this show this show will grow even bigger and better, and it is in our backyard. I talked to John by phone last week. John almost single handily put the last two shows together there at the Evergreen State Fairground. I told him I heard a rumor that this show might be moved to Puyallup, and John told me this show will always be held there at the Equestrian Pavilion at Evergreen. John told me he did a square footing analogy of Puyallup. At Puyallup the show would be held in three locations with less square footage, but at Evergreen the show is in one location with more square footage. My hat is off to John. Thanks John for having the courage and the vision for keeping the show alive. More on this show and the up and coming shows at the next club meeting.

I have some exciting news, so plan to attend our next meeting at Alfy's Pizza on Tuesday, March 4th, 7:00 pm. You won't want to miss the bomb shell I’m planning to drop on you guys. A good bomb shell. No, we still

don't have a second field to go. You will have to come to the meeting to find out what this bomb shell is all about. Come a little early and have a salad or pizza for dinner. You don't want to miss our March 4th meeting.

On March 1st, your new board will have met or will meet for the 1st time for the 2008. I have about four items I want to discuss with the new board and we will discuss these items with our members at our March 4th meeting. Our meetings are open to the public, so invite a friend or neighbor. Also, Dick Ovrid will bring a new latex covering system for our R/C airplanes and will show us how to use this product.

Hey guys, the last two weeks we have had some almost spring-like weather. I was talking to Vince Bell and he told me he flew at our field from 9:00 am till 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 23. We have one of the most beautiful fields out there and the weather is good! So cycle those batteries, knock the rust off your mind and fingers, and get out there and do some flying.

Also, I have yet another email address. Please make a note of it. My new email address is goldbarfred@gmail.com. Somehow I got kicked out of the old fhanquet address and Gmail said there would be a waiting period before I can get the old one back. So instead of waiting I got a new address. See you guy at our March 4th meeting.

Fred
