Officer’s Reports

President

Fred introduced the current club officers: 

President – Fred Hanquet

Newsletter Editor and Webmaster – Ron Swift

Field Manager – Ron Rueter was away. He and his wife were taking the burden of keeping the economy going in Spain and other wondrous cruise destinations. Keep up the good work Ron and Sallie J.

A motion was requested by Fred, made, seconded and approved to accept the minutes as published in the monthly newsletter.  Motion passed unanimously (except for Jim).

Fred thanked everyone for their well wishes, calls and emails during his recovery.

There will be a January BBQ ! ! Burger, chips and drink….$3.00

 

Vice President – Fred reported for Joe Wallis – Joe thanks the Club for his opportunity to serve as V.P. and end the year at the Christmas Party.

 

Secretary - Chet Blake reported that with our newest member, Al Faith, we have 69 members including 2 family and 2 Jr. members.

Welcome Al ! ! !

We have 3 tables plus a club table for  the Model Expo at the Evergreen Fairgrounds on February 9 and 10, 2008. Last meeting we voted and approved for the Club to pay the cost of all the tables that Ron Swift secured.

The next meeting will be Tuesday,  January, 8^th instead of the first Tuesday due to New Years Day being the first Tuesday of the month.

The Builder’s Contest is in process. It’s never too late to make an entry. Judging will be May 6, 2008 at the Club Field.

Keep in mind that the 2007 AMA cards expire in 27 days. In simpler terms, (no math required) you MUST have a 2008 AMA card to fly at the field on and after Jan 1, 2008.

Club dues are due! Membership dues MUST be paid by the end of the business meeting March 4, 2008 in order to NOT pay the $100 initiation dues again. The current renewal membership dues are once again being held at $60 for 2008.

              

Treasurer – Rick Hanners reported that the balance is $5509.11.

2008 dues can be paid at any time, final date for dues will be at the end of business at the March 4^th meeting.

 

Safety Officer – Vince reported that everything seems to be going well.

There doesn’t seem to be a lot of flying going on since the weather has changed.

Keep the batteries in shape during off times.

 

Special Committee Reports

 

Alternate Field Location Committee – Nothing new, Fred will pursue more after he looses the neck brace and becomes more mobile.

 

Pilot training – Rick reported that 5 members are in training.

 

Sound Management – No new readings or report.

 

Field Improvements  - Ron wasn’t present to make a statement, but Fred forwarded a message that Ron was grateful for all the help thru out the year.

 

Old Business

Rick suggested that the local Police be notified about the burglary we had and any future type situations be reported, regardless of whether we have the records on all of the items or not. It was agreed we would do this in case the vandals were arrested and the items are recovered!

 

New Business

Harley has a tent trailer that could easily be made into a flat bed trailer to haul the mowers around when needed. Fred will get it and work on it as his recuperation allows.
