Meal Info Update (Yes, flying is allowed)

There will be a January BBQ ! ! Fred announced that there will be a January 26^th BBQ at 12 o’clock high… (February 2^nd rain date). Burger, chips and drink….$3.00

The Open House and Fun Fly events will have meals as usual of Hamburgers, Chips and Soda.

The Combat Events will have Fred’s secret Briquette, Chips and Soda  $6.00

Another BBMAC breakfast will be in August this year. Last year was great!

A motion was requested by Fred, made, seconded and approved to accept the minutes as published in the monthly newsletter.  Motion passed unanimously.

Fred once again thanked everyone for the support and good wishes he’s received.

Officer Reports

Vice President – Brian Illston presented a calendar with dates of 2 Fun Fly Events, 2 Combat Events and 2 Open Houses. Jim Reynolds has once again graciously offered to assist as Judge at the Fun Fly Events.

Brian and Fred talked about more people getting involved and mentoring from Ron Swift and Scott Curtis, so they can stand in when the pros aren’t available.

Ron  Swift also suggested a Safety Check  at the Open Houses and all events to ensure safety.

Possibly have a safety stand or check out before the aircraft goes skyward.  Vince agreed to make sure this happened.

Static displays are welcome at the Open Houses and Events to show the Club member’s projects in building, aircraft and their type of flying.

 

Secretary - Chet Blake reported we have 69 members including 2 family and 2 Junior members.

We have tables at the Northwest Model Expo at the Evergreen Fairgrounds on February 9 (open to the public from 9 am to 5 pm) and the Sunday10^th from  9 am to 3 pm. The Club will pay the cost of all the tables that Ron Swift secured. Rick has the contact information that Ron submitted to the club.

The Builder’s Contest is in process. It’s never too late to make an entry. Judging will be May 6, 2008 at the during the meeting at our Club Field.

Club dues are due! Membership dues MUST be paid by the end of the business meeting March 4, 2008 in order to avoid  paying  the $100 initiation plus dues. The current membership renewal is still $60 for 2008.

Chet will have new membership cards made up for the March meeting. Those members not in attendance will have them mailed, so please be sure that Chet has your current address.

Next meeting will be Tuesday,  February 5^th at Alfy’s.

A flyer was passed around about Baron Flying Club even March 1^st in Spokane.

You now MUST have 2008 AMA card or membership verification to fly at our field.

Treasurer – Rick Hanners reported that the balance is $5802.90 and dues are coming in. We should be in position to take on a new field if the opportunity comes along.

Rick will have the proposed budget at the February meeting.
