Buzzard Droppings August 2008

(Continued from page 3)

Ron once again started the auction and moved ‘Swiftly” to get all the items up and sold before daylight gave out on us.

The auction was another huge success and many, many thanks to Ron for all the effort and hard work he put into it.

Many thanks to Craig Crummer, who asked that Ron manage the sale of his RC equipment

and Lorraine Crummer for donating half of the proceeds to the club charity.

Many thanks to all of you who donated and/or bought items, supporting the auction and our charities. This is just one of many things that make the Barnyard Buzzards a GREAT Club!

Respectfully submitted by Chet Blake  BBMAC Secretary

Text Box: The last sentence in the intent of the Safety Rules is “Common Sense and courtesy shall prevail at all times”. As far as I know we are holding to this. It is one of the things that make being a Buzzard really great. You read and hear about other clubs that are always bickering about this or that. In our club this is not the case. Let’s keep it that way. If there is a problem, come to a meeting and bring it up or call one of the club officers.
Hats off to Scott and his apprentice Brian for having a safe combat meet. I don’t think there was so much as a midair. The only casualty was Scott trying for a point or two landing in the first round. Since there were only four pilots entered and after the first round there was only three left, the CD saw fit to have all three remaining planes fly together. Three pilots going after one another is a lot more entertaining than two at a time. Having three planes in the air also made the contest go a lot quicker.
Have fun and stay out of the mustard, it’s getting really tall. Last Wednesday I thought we would have to send a search party out for our new President. When I drove in all I could see was a hat bopping in the field, but he found his way back and even had his plane with him.

Attached are the Club’s safety rules for enjoyment.

Be safe & be courteous,
Vince Bell, SO

FIELD AND SAFETY RULES of the
BARNYARD BUZZARDS MODEL AIRPLANE CLUB

Any full club member shall have the authority to enforce the rules herein.

The incident shall then become club business and be open for discussion and any appropriate corrective action if/as deemed necessary at the next regularly scheduled board meeting. (Refer to Section 6 of the club by-laws for more details.)

The Official AMA National Model Aircraft Safety Code and below listed safety rules and regulations shall apply to all flying activity at the field, including but not limited to fixed wing aircraft, gliders, and helicopters. The rules/regulations are divided into two categories; operational and flying. For safety's sake, don't be bashful.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE AS TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING, OR DON'T UNDERSTAND THE RULES, ASK ANY MEMBER IN THE PIT AREA FOR ADVICE OR ASSISTANCE.

Common sense and courtesy shall prevail at all times.
