The auction brought a Grand Total of $1711….. GREAT JOB BUZZARDS !

Safety Officer –Vince said to watch frequencies while changing to different models, beware of loose shirts around spinning propellers, be aware and announce your takeoffs, landings, dead sticks and special attentions calls loud and clear. Don’t forget to acknowledge the other pilot’s messages, too!

Special Committee Reports

Alternate Field Location Committee Fred reported that Harley’s field is no longer under consideration. Fred has his eye on some fields, but hasn’t been out of pain enough to go look or talk to anyone.

Pilot training – Rick reported that 5 members are in training.

Sound Management – No new readings or report.

Field Improvements  -  Ron Rueter thanked everyone who has taken a date for cutting the grass. There’s a couple of dates open, a few missed that other members have stepped up to handle. Ron reminded everyone that when you have a mowing date, it’s the ENTIRE field. Runway, Pits and parking area.

Fred asked Ron to explain the newly acquired Buzzard that adorned a table at the meeting.

Ron explained that Searle, from the Hitching Post, bought it just before he turned over the restaurant and left. We weren’t there for a while and he kept it for us. Once it was known that he was back, we went to breakfast on 9/8 and Searle presented it to Fred and the Club. Ron Rueter is going to take it and apply a good coat of polyurethane and Fred will mount it on the Club shed with a protective roof over it.  NICE MASCOT!

Thanks Searle ! !

Old Business

A motion was made, seconded and voted upon for the Club to add $39.00 to the Auction results to make it a Grand Total of $1750 for the Children’s Hospital Guild. Motion passed.

Dave Bell asked Fred to thank everyone and requested that the Buzzards find a local charity for the upcoming auctions that the Club might have. He feels that the local community can benefit from our great auctions. He is deeply touched and appreciative of how we embraced the idea from the start and the amazing results.

New Business

A motion was made, seconded and voted upon for Ron Rueter to purchase more wheels for the tables to aid the mowing detail. Motion passed.

Builder’s Contest starts in Oct.. $10.00 per entry.

Our October meeting starts the Nomination of Officers and Fred’s favorite, the Special Service Award nominees.

Fred commended Ron Swift for the hard work and energy that he puts in as the Newsletter/Website editor.

Currently the position holds a 50% discount off of the yearly dues. Ron Swift explained that in order to do this, the motion has to be made, seconded and tabled as an amendment to the bylaws, so all members be given written notice at least one month prior to the vote. The motion was made, seconded, discussed and tabled until next month’s meeting.

A motion was made, seconded and passed that the Club participate in the Northwest Hobby Expo again this year at the Evergreen Fair Grounds. The Expo is moving to the Arena area with much more room. Ron Swift will contact John (Expo organizer) and make arrangements for a booth and swap meet tables.
