(April Meeting Minutes continued from page 1)

Newsletter Editor and Webmaster – Ron Swift

Field Manager – Ron Rueter

A motion was requested by Fred, made, seconded and approved to accept the minutes as published in the monthly newsletter.  Motion passed unanimously.

Fred welcomed visitors and asked them to identify themselves.

Mr. George Mickey, Mr. Al Morse and Mr. John Renner were in attendance.

George and Al became our newest members later that evening.

WELCOME Al and George !

Fred took a few minutes to Thank all who helped out at the New NW Model Expo. It was a huge success and we received 2 new members from the effort.

We’ll try to get a better location next year.  Vince applauded Fred for taking quite a few shifts at the table.  There were a lot of Buzzards there in full color! GREAT JOB GUYS !  Fred also made note that Charlie Higgins TumbleWing took 3rd place in the static competition.  NICE JOB Charlie !

Fred also mentioned the Field Cleanup day as April 21st. 2 new flat tables will be made, shed and field cleaning. Burgers, Hotdogs, chips and soda or water will be provided for lunch.

May 1st is the judging of our coveted “Builder’s Contest”. Not too late to join in the competition… Be sure to be there!

Vice President – Joe Wallis was absent, so Fred reported that we have planned 2 Fun Fly events (June 16th and Aug 5th ) and 2 Combat events for 2007 (Combat-May 19th & Sept 16th ) by popular request. There will be an Open House on the first Saturday of each month and Swap Meet at every event.

Please take note that the events are scheduled to be on a Saturday and on a Sunday in an effort to accommodate all members.

Scott Curtis will CD the combat events and Ron Swift will CD a Fun Fly. Randy Turner will be contacted about being an CD for a Fun Fly.

Sandy and Dottie will be the chefs at the Fun Flys.

Secretary - Chet Blake reported 61 members including 2 family and 2 Jr.

members.

Next month’s meeting (May 1) is the conclusion and judging of the Builder’s Competition. If anyone has any pop-up tents, please bring them in case we get some showers.

The 2007 AMA charter was sent in along with $30 registration fee and $60 land owner insurance premium.

Our flying Brother, Butch Sidbeck is going to the hospital for triple bypass surgery. We wish him and his family well.

The mowing list is available and actually only a few spots left. Do your part and take a date to mow.

cover the cost of the meal.

As we look at various possible locations for our second flying field, it would be great to get the GPS coordinates and elevation info.  If you have a GPS with both capabilities and could lend it to me for a while or better yet, if you can go with me to these locations, we could get the data about field locations.  We already experienced the floods, so if we can remain above water, it would be a plus!

Hey, our first club event is on May 19, the Combat event. Grab a plane, a friend, the family and come on out to the field.  I watched the events for a few years, but I flew at our last one.  It was a lot of fun and if I can do it anyone can.  The event is open to all AMA pilots. So come watch, fly or just enjoy the food from the grill!

See you there!   Fred
