(President’s Message continued from page 1)

Ron presented the meet minutes of the last board meeting he chaired and shared the goals and progress that the club has made over the past year, largely due to the efforts of all the club members. Then Ron a vision of our future and possible future goals. The meeting was a little overwhelming , but I’m up to the challenge.

A few weeks ago, I asked Rick Hanners if we had a mission statement. He emailed me this:

“The purpose of this organization is the building and operation of radio controlled models, and to promote the public acceptance and good will towards the sport/hobby in a professional manner.” If you look at the first page of every one of our newsletters, you will see something similar.

Yes, this pretty much sums up what we are about, but I feel we need something more.

I propose that we need  a vision statement. A statement that tells people of our goals, aspira

of the evening, both men joined. Welcome to you both!

A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as posted in the monthly newsletter.

Ron announced that the program for the evening was the election of the 2006 BBMAC Officers, some good eats and fellowship!

The voting took place with the following results:

President – Fred Hanquet

Vice President – Brian Richardson

Treasurer – Rick Hanners

Secretary – Chet Blake

Field Safety Coordinator – Vince Bell

2005 recipient of the Dave Weber Service Award – Ron Swift

 

Vice President - Brian Richardson announced that the Event format for 2006 will be:

Builder’s Competition – 10/05 thru 5/10/06. The judging will be at this meeting at the field.

à Sat. 5/13  Swap Meet and Day of Electrics (Elect. Fly and Swap Meet)

à Sat. 6/10  Open House

à Sun 7/9    Fun Fly 1

à Sat  8/12  Combat & Swap meet

à Sun 9/10  Fun Fly 2

à Sun 10/1  Glider Day (NEW) ! The Glider Day may move to a date earlier in the year to be able to provide better thermals.

Brian also reminded everyone that the 2005/06 Builder’s Competition is now going on, the final judging will be at the May meeting at the Flying Field. The Judges are: Vince Bell, Dick Ovrid, Ray Gilkey and Dave Bell. All entries are $10 ea. You do not have to bring your plans, arf or kit to the meeting. We are all adults and “fair play” is expected. Models are to be built be the member submitting the fee.

 

Secretary - Chet Blake reported 67 members including; 1 honorary, 3 family and 1 junior.

 

Chet reminded everyone that they should soon be receiving their notice form the AMA to renew their yearly dues. ALSO, the Club dues will be coming up soon. Please take these seriously, BOTH are required to fly at the field.

 

 

Treasurer - Bob went over the projected budget for 2006. Bob reported the Club account to be in good shape.

Dues will remain at the present rates of $100 for new members and $60 for current members.

 

Safety Officer - Randy stated that there were no reported “hits” or safety issues. Randy re

A final note– our weather is somewhat harsh, cold temperatures, rain and wind. Yet, some of us have found some dry flying weather. So, bundle up and I’ll see you at the field.
