Buzzard Droppings April 2006

(Continued from page 2)

field and observe the operations, members and noise levels that the hobby presents.  Harley’s been pretty busy, so nothing has happened yet.

Fred asked Ray Gilkey to talk about the conversation he had with Dale (landlord) the week before.

Ray reported that Dale mentioned again that a sale or other use of the property is pending for a possible RV park.  Although Dale doesn’t know the timeframe, he wants us to have a decent heads up to be looking for another location. He mentioned that he knows where there might be property available. One possibility is Mr. Remlinger (Remlinger Farms) near the Cascade Flying Club or possibly other farmers he knows in the area.

Dale had a lot of good things to say about the Club and the way we respect and take care of his property.

We should ALL be on the lookout for possible future flying sites. It can only benefit the club to be prepared.

Pilot training - Rick Hanners reported that 3 members still need check out flights and 1 member needs training.

Sound Management – No new readings have been recorded.

Field Improvements – Joe Wallis reported nothing is scheduled for the winter months. Work day is coming up, reported by Brain as Saturday 4/22 9:00 AM.  Please plan on coming out and take part in the work day,

“git ‘er done” and enjoy some flying.

Program

The rest of the meeting was turned over to Vince Bell and Dave Bell, Vince showed the use of his magnetic building board and quickly built up a small wing section and sanded it using the magnetic building board and devices.

Dave talked about building, sanding and some glider tips. Dave also offered a 78.5 in. Wing Span Spirit for auction. After a “fierce” bidding war, Chet walked out with the prize and is anxious for some summer thermals to give this bird a try.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M.

Respectfully submitted - Chet Blake          BBMAC Secretary

We’ve come a long way over the past few years!
