Safety Officer –Randy wasn’t present, and there were no reported “hits” or safety issues.

 

Special Committee Reports

Alternate Field Location Committee Fred has talked to the owner of the Cherry Valley location and it was viewed by a few members. He is awaiting decision of the “probability” from the land owner. The owner stated it was up to his wife and the livestock.

 

Pilot training - Rick Hanners mentioned that  everyone needing assistance is assigned an instructor and all is going well.

 

Sound Management - Efforts are on going and so far it seems that we’re staying around 93dB.

 

Field Improvements – Fred stated that he has green paint in the storage shed, so if anyone has time and needs to burn off some nervous energy, have a blast painting the tables.

He has applied broad leaf weed killer to the runway.

Announcements

Craig Crummer commended Ron for helping him regain some confidence and getting back into the hobby.

 

EVENTS – 2005, We’re all done for the year ! Thanks to everyone who run them, participated in them, cooked and in many other ways helped and supported them ! ! !

 

The meetings at the Library must be concluded and everything packed up by 8:50 each night. Since we have a lot to discuss at the October meeting, there won’t be a presentation for this month.

Text Box: Well October is upon us................
This month I'll just review a couple of things.
Yes, I know some people think Safety is just old hat.
But, you know, without Safety Rules and Safe thinking we could lose our freedom to fly, loose our flying field and even worse, some people could get hurt.
One thing that I've noticed is not very many flyers do a safety check on their plane before starting up and flying.
What if a control horn linkage is loose and fails in the air???????
We wouldn't know it was the horn or clevis , we would assume radio failure.........
How about checking servo connections, clevises, motor tightness, and above all a range check..........
You know just 4 or 5 minutes checking could save a lot of money and also prevent of possibly loosing the plane into the pits or parking area.
