year. The recommendation will be to leave the dues at the same level as the past years. Bob Martin has prepared an excellent budget for 2006 and we are expecting no surprises.

Also, nominations for club officers will be open. Nominations for the Dave Weber Special Service Award will be open. Last year, Joe Goffin  was voted by the membership as exemplifying service beyond the call…

We will vote for the officers and the winner of the Special Service Award during the December 14 meeting at Alfy’s Pizza. As many know, the club foots the bill for the pizza and non-alcohol beverages. You are welcome to bring family and friends. We have reserved both rooms (they open into one larger room) at Alfy’s, so we should have

inexpensive and very effective. Even though the thermals had weaned away, Dave still got some decent air time just from altitude and a slight breeze. Dave then had a Q&A session explaining the different models, the weights and conditions they could be flown in.

Thanks Dave and NO RAIN this time !!

A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as published in the Sept. newsletter.

Ron related news about meeting night change. At this time the meetings at the Library will be the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Oct 12th, Nov. 9th, Jan 11th, Feb 8th. Mar 8th and April 12th. The December 14 meeting will be our annual Christmas Pizza meeting/party.

Please make note of these meeting dates.  The meeting on Tues. 9/6 is the last meeting at the field for this year.

Ron also reminded the members that the 2006 Officers nominations will open in the October 12 Meeting.

Vice President - Brian Richardson announced that the final Fun Fly for the season would be Sunday Sept. 11th, starting at 10 a.m. and the grill will be open around 11 a.m.

Brian brought up discussion abut the Builders Contest which opens next meeting, Oct. 12 and runs until the judging at the May 2, 2006 meeting at the Flying Field (the first field meeting for 2006).  Discussion followed about having a “Judges Committee” possibly consisting of Dick Ovrid, Vince Bell, Ray Gilkey and Dave Bell. There was discussion of a “peoples choice” voted on by the members for their favorite model.

The entry fee of $10 appeared to be good at this time. Bob brought up the fact that the builders contest concept was initiated to get everyone involved, not having to be a Master Modeler. Last years contest had 21 entries.

All is being considered and the Judges Committee will report or discuss at the October Meeting.

Secretary - Chet Blake reported 66 members including; 1 Honorary, 3 family and 1 junior.

Chet had incorrectly sent an email advising of the new meeting days. It is not the 1st Wed. of the month for the Library meetings, it’s the SECOND Wednesday of the month through  and including April. Mark those Dates.

Treasurer - Bob Martin reported the finances were in descent shape and we’re good for this time of the year. The 2006 budget will be

plenty of room this year.

Many of us talked to Dale, our landlord over the past few weeks. Some don’t know that he lost his brother to cancer just about a year ago. Dale continues to work his property. The latest change is the  modification of the area to the south of the flying field. It will become a pond. Dale mentioned that he would be removing several of the trees in the center of the pond. He asked if any members had floats for the models, because we could fly off the water if we wanted to… He also mentioned R/C boats…

The rules have changed for the

Builder’s Competition. You do not

need to bring the kit, plans, etc.

to the club meeting to enter. More

on this later..

See you at the field and meetings…  Ron
