Buzzard Droppings November 2005

Text Box: Howdy guys,
As you renew your AMA membership for 2006, you might want to check out the new National Model Aircraft Safety Code that will be effective on January 1st. You can access it from the internet, too, here: http://www.modelaircraft.org/PDF-files/105.pdf . Just wanted to point out that it specifically states that children under the age of six (6) are only allowed on an flight line or in a flight area as a pilot or while under flight instruction.
Having a spotter to watch for safety concerns is always a good idea.
There are also specialized supplemental safety codes for radio control combat, general radio control racing, giant scale radio control racing, and gas turbine operation.
Safety is no accident as they say… Be aware of the rules and have fun!

Announcements

The meetings at the Monroe Library must be concluded and everything packed up by 8:50 PM.  Please help with the clean up.

Hap announced that he’s downsizing and has a lot of ‘goodies’ he’s going to be clearing out. Contact him for more precise info.

The November meeting topic will be “Typical ARF Bashing”. This will get into areas of the ARF models where modifications can enhance and lengthen the life of the model.

The nominations for the Dave Weber Special Services Award was previously overlooked. Nominations received to date are Fred Hanquet, Dick

Ovrid, and Ron Swift.

Nimitz Club no longer has a home as of December 2005, and ERMA is not renewing.
