of our models did accidentally land in the pond. It should make life interesting for new pilots.

The new rules for the Builder’s Competition have been compiled and are on page 5. The idea is to simplify the rules and have fun. I’ll add the members and models that they are entering in the newsletter next month.  Hopefully you have selected a model you would like to build already, whether or not you want to join in the competition.

The heavy rain we have been having and the change in the clocks sure have reduced the available flying time.

Some might not know that Ken was taking a model out of his trunk and ruptured a disk in his back. Thank you to the member(s) who helped Ken. The details are rather sketchy, but Ken is on the road to recovery and plans to resume flying.

Well, I’ve gone and done it. I dusted off one of my electric gliders and actually flew it. Now a li-

Monroe plaza by Staples.  Please make note of these dates. Also, for the December meeting at Alfy’s, the Barnyard Buzzards will have both rooms this year, so there will be plenty of room.

He also announced that Sandy will embroider the Buzzard’s logo on your own item. Since our logo has over 80000 stitches, it can be put on your own jacket or shirt for $49.00. Jackets with your name and logo are still $80.00. Tee shirts (transfer type print) are still available for $10.00.

A motion was made and seconded that the meetings remain the 2nd Wed. of each month throughout the year (including summer months at the field) Motion passed.

Ron opened nominations for Officers for 2006. There were no open nominations at this meeting, nominations will also be open at the November and December meeting.

Bob Martin nominated all incumbent officers be nominated for the 2006 year, with the exception of President

This brought up the following motions and discussions.

Jim Reynolds made a motion to amend the Club By-Laws to allow Ron to run for another term since he’s now in his 3rd year as president. As per the present by-laws the President and Vice President can only hold 3 consecutive years for those offices.

Discussion on the motion by Bob Martin ensued with the following Motion to modify the original previous motion of Jim’s.

Bob Martin made a motion to amend Jim’s motion as:

"To wave the bylaw limit of a 3 year term for the club President for this year only to allow the current president, Ron Swift, to run for the office of president for the 2006 club year" Bob continued by explaining that the by-law rule was to limit the term of president to 3 years so that no one president could become a dictator to control and make the club his, and so that there would be no hidden audit errors, this is not the case with this current president or the club. Ron would be put on the ballet for president and would compete with the other nominees for president.

A counted hand vote revealed 10 for, and 0 against in favor of the amendment. All other members abstained.

The amended Motion was then voted on. The counted hand vote was 9 for and 0 against. All other members abstained. Motion passed by majority vote…

(Secretary’s note…….. All votes were by full members. No family, student or junior members neither voted nor were counted).

Also, please note that a call for “Open Nominations” will be made at the November and December meetings. All members are welcome to run for any of the Officer’s positions.

Ron stated that he performed an audit of the Treasurer’s records for 2005. This was conducted in the presence of the other board members. Everything balanced as per Club Check Book entries and bank statements..

Ron relayed news from our landlord, Dale. He has a tentative offer for the property. Even in the fastest

poly battery has shown up in the mail. Amazing how small the 4 amp battery (that’s 4000 ma) is. I’ll have to drag one of the e-model kits down from the loft and see if I can join the e-craze.

I still like the sound of the wet engines. Amazing how many of the gas and alcohol models I have planned to build. Four engines have been rebuilt this month already, and a couple of models that hadn’t been flown in a few years. Amazing the stuff that needs fixing after being mothballed for so long.

Speaking of which, I worked on a student’s plane. He mentioned it was tough to fly. It turned out to be very tail heavy. As I was inspecting the fuselage, about a pound of bird seeds came out of the tail! Evidently he had a mouse packing the food away for winter. Problem solved!

See you at the field and meetings.

Ron
