the oil (add some if needed) before starting the engine.  And clean the clippings from the deck when you’re done. That way, the mowers will last a little longer.

At this month’s meeting we will be voting on a proposed by-law change that would make auditing the club’s books a once a year mandatory occurrence.  This is a normal practice for many clubs and makes sense. The proposed change is on the yellow box to the right of this message.

We have a date for the Spring cleanup of Saturday, March 26 from 10:00 until 1:00. Call Fred Hanquet (425) 788-3182 if you have any questions or want to know what to bring. Traditionally, the club buys the pizza for those who help out.

See you at the flying field!

assumed they were in "good taste".

The Dave Weber Special Service Award trophy is being engraved and will be delivered to Joe Goffin as soon as it's retrieved. Joe was also presented with a certificate as noted in the February newsletter.

Vice President

Brian Richardson was absent, so Ron went on to the events for this flying season. Randy Turner has agreed to oversee the Fun Flys.

Scott Curtis will oversee the Combat Event.

Ron asked for volunteers for the Open House and Swap Meets.

Secretary

Chet reported 66 full time, 3 family and 1 Jr. member(s). Chet also reminded everyone that "Dues are due", and asked all returning and new members to fill out an application, sign and return it to him with your dues.

This is required to keep information current within the club and the AMA guidelines. Obviously the new 2005 AMA card is required to fly at the field.

Everyone who wishes to renew at the regular dues price must do so by the March Meeting. This is when the AMA roster will be sent in. Anyone renewing after the March meeting deadline (3/1/05) will be considered

a new member and required to pay the $100 dues (includes the initiation fee).

New membership cards will be available at the March meeting with the new gate & shed combination.

The 2005 mowing list will be available at the March meeting. If everyone takes a turn, there should be no problem keeping the field manicured with only one mowing per person.

Don’t forget the Builders Competition will be held at the May meeting at the field.

Treasurer

Bob reported that as of 2/1/05, 43 returning members have paid their dues. We are under ( by last years stats) by at least 17 members.

We are stable both budget and dollar wise for the year. The 2005 AMA magazine renewal was paid for the year.

Bob reported 18 members have entered the Builders Competition and this event holds a purse of $180 for awards. Bob reported that he knows someone who has an R/C Plane to offer to a needy youngster who has

the desire to learn R/C flying.

Ron has sent the AMA Gold

Leader application in.

Safety Officer

Randy reported the New Year starts to bring

(Continued on page 3)

By-law change to be voted on at the March 1st meeting would add the following to section 7 of the bylaws as follows:

A member of the Executive Board Committee shall audit the Club’s Financial Reports as prepared by the Treasurer at least once a year and compare them to the Bank’s Monthly Statements”.
