Do you just go out to the field and just burn holes in the sky????????
Why not once in a while have a plan,...
At least once a month during one of your flights why not practice something.
The dreaded dead stick landing often puts our models at risk, but you can train yourself to handle it better.
Climb up high, go to idle, and hone your judgment skills as far as being able to touch down on the field where you want. If you sense your getting into trouble, all you have to do is advance throttle and climb back up to a safe altitude. Then try it again.
Go to different locations around the flying field to practice this from different angles.
Experience will teach you where the wind is, and experience will teach you that pulling the nose up slows the plane down and you may not make the
runway.
This is good practice for the experienced flyer and the
not so experienced flyer.
Remember every model flies differently and you will
have to handle the dead stick approach different.
Well let's all practice something once in awhile.
Keep your carb lean and mean-------and your head
calm and cool too!
