Swap Meet Discussion

Open to all, 10am to 3pm. no entry fee hoping to gain awareness.  Selling out of the truck or car in the parking lot area.  Open flying allowed to AMA members.  Transactions are between the seller and buyer, club has no responsibility.

· Ron has the new scanner, the procedure put together by Randy Turner and Bob Martin presented, passed as draft to be presented to the membership

· Student pilot program.  Rick states that currently there are 9 new flyers in the program.  The current instructors are maxed out.  Need to ask for additional instructor volunteers.

· Large plane procedure discussed.  It was

· agreed that currently we do not have any unique problems with our large planes. Current pilots that fly that size are responsible.  It was agreed to do nothing at this time and re-open the discussion is a problem does occur. AMA regulations apply and seem adequate.

· Membership Cap.  Bob Martin explained that he currently counts all member classifications (full, family and junior) as current members since all are required to be AMA members and must have insurance, but questioned whether they all should be considered in the cap figure.  It was discussed and recommended that only the Full voting members be counted in the cap of 60. [later verified at out club meeting]

The Builders competition was discussed and ways to improve it.  It was suggested that we extend the period from October to May and have the judging at the field where there would be more room and the planes could be flown.

Meeting was concluded at 6:30pm
