having the usual menu of hots, hamburgs, chips and cold drinks available for sale.

We have contacted the best weather forecasters and they assure us that we will have flyable weather that weekend.

Bring your friends, family and a camera. Try flying RC if you haven’t experienced it already!

Another worthwhile event this month is the annual Cub Scout RC Outing. This year it will be on Saturday, June 5 at 10:00 AM. In the past, we have had as many as 30 new pilots attending ground school and flying one of our models. It looks like we’ll have about 9 families and friends attending this year. Any club member who would like to help out, please plan to be at the field a little early (9:30 AM) to prepare for our guests.

A word about mowing the field seems to be needed. Our club encourages each member to mow the flying field if it needs it. If you are not familiar with the operation of the tractors, please contact one of the club officers and we will schedule an introductory operation overview for the tractor operation.

Ron has the new scanner and is programming it, making an antenna, and DC power source.  The scanner should be ready for use in a couple of weeks.

Treasurer -  Doug reported that  the balance of the club is healthy.

Safety Director - Randy reminded everyone that our field now has pilot station blocks and that flyers should now use them. Maximum of 4 pilots flying at a time.  Planes should only be started in the pit area.  When starting and running your plane on the tables it is recommended that you have someone hold the plane and don’t just rely on the wheel blocks.

follow these steps:

· Unlock the storage shed and open the doors

· Select the tractor of choice (use the new one for the runway, old one for the pits and other areas)

· Open the tractor’s hood and clean the air screen on the top of the engine

· Check the engine oil level using the dipstick. Do NOT overfill! Add oil only if it is needed.

· Fill the gas tank with gasoline (not the mixed oil/gas mixture used for the weed trimmer).

· Move the transmission gear selector so the tractor will head out of the shed when you start the machine.

· Start the engine, drive out of the shed to the grass cutting area.

· Engage the cutting blades and lower the cutting deck all the way down.

· Cut the grass so that the grass is discharged away from the runway. Make sure not to direct the exiting grass clippings toward any person at the field.

· When done, disengage the cutting blades, raise the cutting deck and park the tractor in the shed.

· Relock the shed.
