now has received the copy of the articles of Incorporation and the business license and thus has the required documentation to open the new bank account.  He will deposit the new checks he has received and transfer the money from the old bank account to the new one.  He also stated that the balance is now growing as members have started paying their 2004 membership dues. We are in good financial shape.

Safety Officer report- Karl was not present and no new safety issues were brought up

Committee Reports

Builder’s competition - Bob Martin reported 16 members have entered the competition and that members could still enter by showing the un-started kit  or plans and paying $5.00

Pilot training - Rick Hanners reported no new activity with the pilot training and no sound readings.

Field Improvements - Randy Turner reported no new field improvements, but stated that he and Joe Goffin are building a new flight table as approved at the last meeting and hopes to have it completed soon.

Old Business

The By-law change motion regarding the dues for serving officers was voted on and approved.  All elected officers will now serve and have their club dues waived.

The By-law change regarding the order of business will be voted on at the January meeting.

Ron Swift reported that he has received the AMA scanner and will start taking readings

soon.  Bob Martin will send an email when they start.  He also reported that the board has not met to make a recommendation on the red tag RC transmitter issue.

Bob Martin also reported that the Puyallup airplane show is Jan 31st and Feb 1st and still needs members’ help in manning the booth.

New Business

Bob Martin passed out the ballots for voting for the 2004 officers and Dave Weber award.  A new nomination was made for Safety Officer and the Dave Weber Special Service award. 

The Secretary collected the ballots and counted the votes.  The 2004 Board members are as follows;

President - Ron Swift

Vice President - Brian Richardson

Secretary - Bob Martin

Treasurer - Doug Hoff

Safety Officer - Karl Schaefer

The winner of the 2004 Dave Weber Special Service Award  was Rick Hanners

Doug Hoff had passed out tickets to all attending and gave out gift certificates to Tim’s Hobby shop to the winners of the raffles.

President Ron Swift wished all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and asked for a motion to close the meeting.  A motion was received and seconded and the meeting was closed at 7:45 PM

A time of greetings and more pizza eating followed.

Next month’s meeting will be on January 6th at 7PM at the Monroe Library. The program will be about covering and detailing.

Engine and propeller safe practices:

It is a good idea to use an engine test stand to break in engines. This allows easy access to all of the engine parts for adjustments and allows the owner to become familiar with the engine’s starting and operating characteristics before it is mounted to the airframe.

Use of an electric starter also promotes safety and saves a lot of sweat as an engine is first started.
