opportunities for us to increase our flying and building skills. If you have ideas along these lines, please share them. Randy will be inviting a guest pilot to provide a 3D presentation during the summer.  We can invite others to share their building and flying expertise with us as part of our meeting programs.

Some issues with the lock on the main gate have been reported including difficulty in getting the lock to work and also that the gate was left unlocked. The lock was oiled and now, seems to be working fine. Weather and age can make the lock difficult to use at times. Thanks to all who contacted us. Just a reminder: To protect the field from damage and to prevent theft of our club property, it is important to make sure the gate is locked

(November Meeting Minutes continued from page 1)

Swap Meet had low attendance due to the weather. Ron definitely had a large attendance at his tent, of course, it was dry there!

Vice President:

Brian reported the scheduled events went well and hopefully more participants will be in the future events to come.

Secretary:

Ron reported from notes from Bob, that we currently have 66 full members, 3 family members and 1 Junior member. A reminder was again given that after Dec. 31, 2004, you MUST have a new 2005 AMA membership to fly at the field.

Treasurer:

Ron reported for Doug that the Club Account was in favorable condition. Doug wasn’t present to give exact totals.

Safety Officer:

Randy gave a reminder that with the cooler weather and jackets being worn, be sure to keep clothing buttoned or zipped up. He told a story of a friend that was at another field and a pilot was starting his plane with an open, unzipped jacket. The prop struck the zipper and broke it free. It was launched approximately 10 ft. away and struck a small boy in the eye. Unfortunately the young boy lost the use of his right eye.

BE AWARE of your prop arc, and location

of clothing and supplies or tools in the area.

Randy reported that we had NO major accidents. Ron also advised to check out equipment regularly. He once started a plane and the spinner came off and flew down the flight line.

Committee Reports:

Pilot Training:

Ron reported that in conversation with Rick Hanners, the program is going well and everyone in the program reported enjoying  it with a good insight to flying.

Field Improvements:

We will probably build/install at least  2 new tables in the spring. If anyone has any other suggestions bring them up at the meetings or talk to one of the officers and they’ll present it at to the Club Board.

Old Business

Jim Clayton was not present to announce a recipient for the charitable gift. Ron stated that if none was presented, it would be discussed at the December meeting.

Ron stated that the AMA Safety Plaque with the GPS coordinates is in process and will be installed in the spring.

The scanner signal chasing will continue. There were a couple of stray signals encountered recently.

New Business

Ron asked for a motion to increase the membership by one to allow a former member to

when you are the last one to leave…

Just a reminder. The Membership did vote to have a membership cap of 60. We will be accepting membership renewals (and have since the October meeting). We currently have 67 active regular members on our roster. Soon, we might be faced with making a decision about giving preferential treatment (using seniority) for returning members, then new members in determining accepting membership applications.  Some cutoff date for using seniority will

most likely need to be determined, also.

At the moment we are operating on a

first come-first served basis.

I hear the shop calling me to continue working on the Su-Do-Khoi (my entry for the Builder’s Competition).
Happy Holidays! See you at the flying field, Ron
