Buzzard Droppings August 2004

I extend thanks to Karl Schaefer for doing an excellent job of coordinating our Fun Fly this year. There would be many that could criticize the event. We only had 5 pilots enter the event. We had two planes that crashed (one was mine). The events Karl planned were done with safety and challenge always in the forefront.  When an incident occurred, Karl analyzed the situation and discussed it with the participants, then made changes to the event to make it more fun, and in two instances, safer. Many who would comment about the event were not

Karl’s planning and attitude  exemplifies the heart of the club. It is stated in the top of the newsletter, but I’ll repeat it here… Our club is about “Promoting the building and operation of radio controlled models, and the public acceptance and good will towards the sport/hobby. Our main goal is to have fun and enjoy the challenge of safely flying radio control

The monthly business meeting of the Barnyard Buzzards Model Airplane Club was called to order by president Ron Swift on July 6, 2004 at 7:00 PM at the our flying field.  It had been raining all day and as 7 o’clock approached it rained even harder.  We pushed the tractors out of the shed and most of us crowded into the shed while others stood outside the door.  The tractor shed now has a dual purpose as our new clubhouse. Ron did bring a popup canopy that we could have used, but the shed held

our 17 attendees with no problem.

Ron introduced the attending board members and asked any attending guests to introduce themselves. We had 3 guests present and one former member.

Ron asked for a motion to approve the June meeting minutes as published in the monthly newsletter.  A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes as published. Motion passed by majority vote.
