to enter the competition at the flying field to allow them to enter that way. The event will conclude with the judging at the meeting in March.  The club members themselves will be the judges by secret ballot. The event will have several different classes ( i.e. ARF’s, stick kit built, scratch built and electric).

The club’s  2004 budget was discussed.  It was proposed and seconded that we leave the current membership renewal dues at $60 and the new membership dues at $100.

Ron opened nominations for Club officers for 2004 and the Dave Weber Special Service Award. Bob Martin read the list of the current members that are holding the offices and that are again nominated for the 2004 year. No new names were added for club officers at the meeting.  Names nominated for the Dave Weber award were Randy Turner, Joe Goffin and Dick Ovrid

Ron also reminded the membership that the nominations would be open until the elections are held at the meeting on December 9th at Alfy’s Pizza.

Dave Bell reported that Buzz Goodrich is very ill. Ron Swift stated that our landlord Dale is also sched

uled for surgery.  The club members wished both of them a speedy recovery and requested that the club secretary send cards to them.

Program:

Ron Swift held a discussion on control linkages and hinging.

Next month’s discussion will be a video presentation by Doug Hoff.

A time of fellowship followed and we had several members bring planes to the meeting.

The meeting was concluded at 8:45 PM.

Respectfully submitted, Bob Martin, Club Secretary, 10/15/2003

Our club is dedicated to the safe pursuit and advancement of model aviation. We offer the newcomer free lessons to learn how to build models and to fly them. If you should have any questions about the club, flight instruction, or membership requirements, please call any of the club officers. We have a safety checklist available for those new to our flying field.

Use of a computer simulator is advisable. This allows you to practice safely and will end up saving you hundreds of dollars in the long run.

Still, in any case, the best way to learn to fly R/C planes is by finding an instructor to help. Learning on your own can be expensive and somewhat less safe.

We provide instruction for both building model aircraft as well as flying these models. In most cases, a buddy box system is used at the flying field. Experience has shown this to be the safest method to learn.

Those who want to enroll in the pilot training program should contact Rick Hanners (phone number is on the list below) or our club secretary, Bob Martin at (425) 483-2348.

Pilots already enrolled in the training program are welcome to contact any of the

club instructors.
