You may not have heard, but Dale, our landlord was in the hospital for hip replacement surgery. Evidently this is the second operation. He mentioned that the changes made at the flying field were OK with him. He expected to be out and about soon. We wish him a speedy recovery.

I want to give a special thanks to Joe and Randy for all the work they put into our flying field.  Their up-front work made planning the Spring Cleanup activities easy for the club.  They put a lot of work into the field as well. Joe even took the tables to the dump that I said I’d remove. He made several trips

Bob Martin made quick work of the Spring Cleanup with all the back hoe work. The tractor made moving the shed and shelter simple. Bob even provided the top soil used to fill in the flying field.

I had taken pictures of the Spring Cleanup, but my camera decided it was time to fail! All the pictures are lost. I have a new Olympus C-5050 camera on the way. Sorry I lost the pictures, guys!

The monthly meeting of the Barnyard Buzzards Model Airplane Club was called to order by president Ron Swift on May 6, 2003 at 7:00 PM at the Monroe Public Library.

Ron introduced the attending board members and asked for any guests to introduce themselves. Guests present were Jim MacKenzie and Dan Fye.  (Dan Fye became our newest member after the meeting.)

Ron asked for a motion to approve the April meeting minutes as written and published in the monthly

newsletter.  A motion was made, seconded and approved  with no changes.

Officer and Special Committee Reports:

Ron Swift announced that the local Cub Scout pack again wanted to attend a fly-in sponsored by our club at our field.  The date has changed to June 14th and all that could help are welcome to come to the field.  ( Secretary’s note, the event was again changed and was held on May 24th.)
