You are trying to put a flat
decal on a curved surface. If you are slow and careful it can be done. Don’t
forget, these decals REALLY stick, so make sure of the placement before you
get them down. Once they are down there is no way of removing them without
damage to the surrounding surface.
FLYING!!!!!
Of course I had broken in the MDS before the first
flight. Out to the field I go, the weather was clear and cold. This was over
the Thanksgiving weekend. Preflight done, nerves on edge, fingers cold, I am
set to launch to the sky. I have to say at this point, that this plane looks
really cool setting there idling on the runway. The taxi test showed that
this plane has no bad habits to plague you with the takeoff portion. I had
wondered about the wheel pants, but found there is plenty of clearance for
the wheels on the grass runway. The throttle was brought up and the plane went
straight and was in the air and climbing with no problem. The only trim
change I made was to the elevator, 3 clicks down and at half throttle, we were
smoke’n. This jewel really moves out. It is a very clean design and it shows
in the speed that is being demonstrated.
To this date, I have not really "pushed" the plane hard
to see what it limits are. I can assure you that it does all of the
aerobatics (that I know) in a predictable manner and with no sneaky habits. The
stalls are gentle and you have control right up to the point of the stall,
then an easy recovery. Spin recovery is instant.
