for a flight work table and described the design.  Bob Martin stated that in past discussions of tables, several different designs have been recommended.  He recommended that we approve the building of one of Joe’s tables so that we could see if that is the design we would want.  All present agreed and Joe will build one of the tables.

The proposed a Bylaw change to wave the membership fees for ALL club officers will be voted on at the December 9th meeting at Alfy’s..

Ron Swift also proposed a change in the By-Laws describing the order of the meetings.  In the bylaws it is specified in what order the meeting will be conducted.  It was suggested to change the bylaws to only state what should be discussed and leave the order up to the person conducting the meeting.  Ron proposed such and the change will also be voted on at the January meeting.

Dick Ovrid reported on the mowers and stated that he will be doing the maintenance on both the mowers.  He stated that during the raining months of winter we should all use the “OLD” mower and prevent rusting of the mowing deck on the new one.

The 2004 NW Model Exposition at the Western Washington Puyallup fair grounds is on Jan 31st and Feb 1st 2004.  Bob Martin has reserved a booth at the fair and started a sign up sheet for members to man the booth during the fair… Please contact him to sign up.

Bob Martin brought up the death of Burt Baker and stated that it did not seem right to take him off the membership list.  He stated that he would like to start a new member list for members that the club would like to remember. We cannot keep them on the regular membership list, since they would not be AMA members.  It was suggested that we start a Barnyard Buzzard “Honor Roll” and place past members that have contributed to the club, but are no longer members on it, so that the club could still keep them on the rolls.  The Barnyard Buzzard Honor Roll was passed and Burt Baker was nominated as its first member.  Dave Weber was then voted as the second member.

Bob Martin then brought up the gift basket the club sends to our landlord each year and stated that the $60 we spend on that gift was equal to one annual member’s dues.  He suggested ways to still send a gift

Our club is dedicated to the safe pursuit and advancement of model aviation. We offer the newcomer free lessons to learn how to build models and to fly them. If you should have any questions about the club, flight instruction, or membership requirements, please call any of the club officers. We have a safety checklist available for those new to our flying field.

Use of a computer simulator is advisable. This allows you to practice safely and will end up saving you hundreds of dollars in the long run.

Still, in any case, the best way to learn to fly R/C planes is by finding an instructor to help. Learning on your own can be expensive and somewhat less safe.

We provide instruction for both building model aircraft as well as flying these models. In most cases, a buddy box system is used at the flying field. Experience has shown this to be the safest method to learn.

Those who want to enroll in the pilot training program should contact Rick Hanners (phone number is on the list below) or our club secretary, Bob Martin at (425) 483-2348.

Pilots already enrolled in the training program are welcome to contact any of the

club instructors.
