It was a dark dreary night
on March 13th as I made my way south to Magnuson Park to attend my first every indoor flying session with the Barn Owls. I hadn’t flown anything in about 3 weeks due to weather and other life chores. Packed away inside the van were my trusty Dusk Stick and a unique craft, the Voltair Cube.
I was on my way to the
mysterious Hanger 27 located somewhere on this old Navy base. Not to fear,
the Barn Owls had a link on their website to a trusty map which showed
exactly where all the buildings in the park were, and even directions on how
to get to the park from just about anywhere. For those interested, the Barn

I arrived at about 7:45pm and
one of the first persons I met was Chuck Clemans, the Treasurer.
Chuck was in charge of making
sure people paid the $10 flying fee. The money collected goes to the Park
Department and not the Owls. It is part of their contract with the park for
