Wow! What a miserable spring so far. The field is ready... I've got a new plane ready, but the weather just won't cooperate. I know a few of you have managed to get in some flying, so that takes a little of the edge off of this weather for me. I want to thank the members that showed up to help out with our spring cleaning. Great job guys! This means that the field is ready for the flying season with only a few minor jobs needing attention. Dick Ovrid will complete the new arrow showing our "no fly zone" giving all of us a better target to see. I know I must sound like your mother, but I'll say it again, PLEASE don't over fly the house. Don't even push it! I ask that every

one walk out to the post on the trestle while others are landing to observe what is an acceptable landing approach. New tables are in process and I hope to have some materials and plans in place very soon. I've done some testing with the new composite woods and this looks very promising as a way to prevent the rot that is occurring with our tables right now. We will talk more about it at the next meeting. I have had more calls this year from flyers interested in joining our club than ever before. After the meeting was called to order, a field cleanup day was discussed. April 20th was settled on and a broadcast e-mail was to be sent out to inform the membership as this would take place before the next newsletter came out. A windsock has to be put up, the safety fence repaired, new streamers put on the trestle pole, a direction arrow placed on the trestle, spreading weed killer, plus various

cleanup and fixing chores. Members were asked to bring rakes, shovels, water, socket sets, power tools, screwdrivers, sprayers, spreaders, etc. Basically anything they can think of that might be needed out at the field for cleanup and repair.
