President's Message -- Dave Weber

I'm glad to say that things appear to be going well for the Buzzards this year.  Our club membership is growing and so is the club treasury, which makes our club stronger than in recent years.  My hope is that this momentum will continue to grow from now until the foreseeable future.  You, as a club member, are responsible for this growth and I personally give you my thanks.
There are still a few costly issues that need to be addressed by the club, most notably is the diminishing performance of our mower.  We have several members working on keeping the old girl running for as

long as possible, but we definitely need to plan for a purchase of a more reliable mower within the next year or two.  Several members have requested that we consider purchasing a mower that would allow us to "bag" the clippings.  I like this idea, but it will add cost to the overall price of the new or newer mower.  This means getting the most out of our current mower is all that more important. So, I ask that all members be extra careful when running the mower.

Meeting Minutes May 2002 -- Rick Hanners

The meeting started with the introduction of two new club members, Steve Webster and Randy Turner.  The discussion then turned to the June 8th Open House.  Dave Weber asked for club members who come to please help out with whatever is needed.  Dave also encouraged anyone who wanted to put on a flying or static demonstration, to please do so.  Doug Hoff thought that Tim (Tim's Hobbies), might

come out to fire up his turbine but wasn't sure if that would be able to happen.
The mowing list was started and most of the flying season dates were filled in.  The list will be posted in the shed once it is compiled.  People who are not scheduled to mow, but do so anyway, are urged to phone that week's mowing person and let them know
