Everett Mall R/C Show Feb 22, 23, 24

I want to thank all of those who helped pull off this year's Club raffle at the Puyallup Model Exposition this year.  I especially want to thank Rick, Ron, Karl and Charlie for putting in that extra effort that made it so much easier on me this year. You guys are the best!  Unfortunately despite all of these great efforts the raffle was not as successful as in past years.  This was not due to our lack of effort but more due to the lack of attendees to this year's show.  I'm not aware of the actual attendance numbers. Although to this observer the trend at this show seemed to be in the downward slide, but I'll leave that discussion for another time.  The good news about this year's show was that the winner was once again a young man around the age of 10.  Bryan was eyeing the Avistar plane for quite some time, but with some coaxing and prodding from his friend he settled on the    R/C car.   I'm sure that this young man has been enjoying the accolades from his friends along with the excitement of his new toy.
Now that the show has ended we can turn our attention back to finishing up those projects on the building board or starting that new kit we just bought.  I'd like to see some of those winter projects show up at the next few meetings whether they are finished or just being started.  It is always interesting to

see what others are building or that unique kit construction.
Ron mentioned that he thought this column would be a good place to put some ideas out for discussion, so I'd like to bring up one that has been on my mind for a while now.  I'd like to see an additional logo for the club designed.  Something simple that could be easily applied to t-shirts, hats or stickers.  I love the way the current scheme looks on our jackets but it is just too much work to reproduce in the small quantities that we require.  So, I would like to propose a contest of sorts where all members, friends and families are welcome to submit design proposals with the idea that some prize will be awarded to the winning designer.  If this is approved by the club members and officers we will publish full details in a later newsletter.
In closing I'd like to remind everyone to get those dues in now  to help make things easier on Rick.  I'd also like to ask everyone to make an effort to bring in new club members.  I think we could fit a few more members on the roster and new members always bring along new ideas and more help with the spring clean-up!

"Keep your nose up and clean!"
