Buzzard Droppings December 2002

Text Box: As my time as club president grows short, I can’t help but reflect on the past several years and relive some of the great moments. I first think of the moment at Alfy’s Pizza when Bruce told me that I had just been elected vice president. I had left to get the pizza order a mere peasant club member and when I came back I had been magically transformed into the upper crust of Buzzard society as a club officer. Of course at the time Bruce nor I knew of what was going to happen only a few months down the road. As most of you know Bruce left for a job in Idaho and whether you liked it or not my fate was sealed.
Text Box: My memory also takes me back to our open house events where every year it seems we not only have had a good amount of rain, but the lightning and thunder to go with it. Showing just how much we love this hobby we still had people show up and we flew in between the showers. As expected there was always someone there to make the day a challenge. The best example was when a non-member got upset with me because I wouldn’t let him fly on his brother's word he was an AMA member. “No card, no fly, no problem!”,

Meeting Minutes November 2002 — Rick Hanners

The meeting was called to order shortly after 7pm.  This was the first meeting to take place at our new meeting location, the Monroe Library.  The November meeting had been moved to the second Wednesday of the month, but starting January 2003, the new meeting date will be the 1st Tuesday of the month.  Ron Swift was going to look into making sure the room was reserved for the whole year for that date.

Decisions from the executive

board meeting were presented to the members.  A new frequency board is going to be installed out at the field.  It will be in use at ALL TIMES, even if there is only one person there.  Members will be required to put either their AMA card or a photocopy of same (with official Buzzard sticker) up on the board.  This will allow everyone to identify members and guest and to insure that everyone is an AMA
