Meeting Minutes March 2002 -- Rick Hanners
Dick Ovrid reported that the field was in good shape but the mower needed a new battery. Dick was going to take care of that when he got the chance. Dick also reported that he is still working on the large white arrow we are going to put on the trestle, but he is waiting for Ken Martin to come and cut the arrow out the plywood. Rick Hanners discussed what he had found out about the AMA Intro Pilot Program. Basically it allows the club to teach a NON-AMA member for 30 days without the student belonging to the AMA. by the club designated Intro Pilot and always on a buddy box. The student will be covered by the AMA insurance during the 30 day training period. Each student can only sign up once. The club gets to designate three of its members as Intro Pilots with the cost being $5 per Pilot. This program does not preclude a new member being taught by any qualified person in the club. The program will be used as a supplement to what we currently do when a casual visitor comes out to the field to try a radio control model. The club voted to adopt the program and already
Dues are past due! Club awarded AMA Gold Leader Club status! Membership drive is on. Share your skills and provide an opportunity for others to enjoy this great hobby/sport. Spring cleanup will be in April --date to be decided. We have a windsock this year. (And probably a new white arrow!) Sound measurement technique to be demo'd at our club meeting. Bring your show & Tell items to the meeting.
