![]() Fun Fly 2001 The Fun Fly on Saturday, July 14 was a HIT! We had 11 participants in the events and somewhere between 25 - 30 people total showed up to watch and kibitz. A number of kids were also out there an all seemed to be fascinated by the planes. Overall winner was Brian Loudermilk!! Great job Brian! The limbo event was pretty thrilling. John was edged out of the limbo competition (he flew the Lanier Stinger!) Scott Curtis and Brian were the last 2 limbo fliers and they got pretty low. I think the tape was at about 14" at the lowest and that was just too low for either of them, but it was exciting getting to that point. Charlie Higgins brought a supply of pop out for everyone to enjoy - Greatly Appreciated Charlie! Charlie was also gracious enough to make the pizza run to Alfy's and bring back the early afternoon feed. We started about 9:30 and finished the competition around 2:30. We had open flying after that. 3 people showed up from outside the club. Dean Brintoii and Allan Poinsett came up from the SeaTac area. They had gotten one of our fliers from the Puyallup show. The other new comer was Ron Swift from Duvall. He had recently moved here from back East for a new job. All three participated in the events and Ron joined the club!! Welcome Ron. We only had one tragedy of the day during the limbo contest. Fast moving airplane, stationary pole - you get the rest of the picture. The weather was just great, we couldn't have asked for a nicer day, plus everyone had a good time. Thanks to everyone who came! Hope to do it again. Photos taken by Ron Swift
